Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 gets Grigio Antares paint

Grigio Antares is usually a color reserved for the Murcielago, but over in San Diego, California, Symbolic Motor Car Company has just sold a 2009 Gallardo LP560-4 dressed to the nines in this unique color. The car looks sensational and even comes equipped with passport radar, tinted tail lights, tinted side markers, and apparently much more not listed.

Forget the yellow or green exterior paint colors some choose for the Gallardo, this gray paint makes it look better than any other options Lamborghini may have to offer. Apparently the owner chose this color as a way to express his personality without disrupting Lamborghini’s design.

As a reminder, the Gallardo LP560-4 is powered by the new 5.2 liter V10 engine with an output of 560 PS (412 kW) at 8000 rpm. The increase of 40 PS compared with that of the previous Gallardo, and the approximate 20 kilogram reduction in weight, improves the power weight ratio to 2.5 kilograms per PS (hp) and thus enhances performance. The LP560-4 accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and can hit a top speed of 201 mph.

Lamborghini Working on 50th Anniversary Model

Lamborghini has been pretty busy, with the Italians developing a successor for the Murcielago, a brand new engine & transmission, the Sesto Elemento concept and other goodies.

However, it seems that the company just can’t get enough new developments. Maybe the Italians are just crazy for positive public feedback or maybe they’ve found a new business pathway that allows them to offer one new release after another - it doesn’t matter, we’re just happy to get more Lambo creations.

Various media sources report that the automotive producer is preparing something special for 2013, when the company will celebrate its 50th anniversary. It seems that the company won’t just stick to marketing moves and champagne bottles, being determined to offer us a new beast.

Considering that we are talking a bout half a century of activity, this should be the Bull’s Raging party, so we are expecting an extreme four-wheeled creation. Certain sources indicate that we’ll get a road-legal incarnation of the Sesto Elemento concept, but it’s still to early to tell - of course, such a car would be more than enough to make us jump for joy. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: the market really needs supercars that know what the true meaning of the word “lightweight” is and the 999 kg concept is the perfect example.

The move will continue the automotive producers tradition - we’ll remind you that the list of other birthday special models includes the 25th Anniversary Countach, the Diablo SE30, as well as the Murcielago 40th Anniversary.

Lamborghini Sesto Elemento On Sale For €2.26 Million

We had heard rumors that the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento concept will be produced in extremely limited numbers and at a painfully high price. Well, it turned out to be true, as the German dealer Auto Salon Singen lists the Sesto Elemento 1 of 10 with 90 km on the clock for sale. The price? Well since you are asking, it is 2.261.900 EUR! The actual price of the car is €1.9 million but you have to pay €361,000 VAT on it.

All of a sudden the Reventon seems like a bargain!

The Sesto Elemento is a super lightweight car made almost entirely out of carbon fiber and powered by a 570 hp 540 Nm V10 engine which takes it from zero to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds. But who cares really, all it matters with this car is exclusivity. Actually they could sell it at a higher price than this if they’d put it on auction.

Auto Singen must have very good contacts at Lamborghini, as they managed to secure the first Sesto. Where will the next one go? Well, maybe Alain Class, they got the first Reventon.

Hamann Press Release: HAMANN Victory II turns the Gallardo LP560-4 into a technology and design winner

HAMANN already presented the super sports car Victory based on the first Lamborghini Gallardo. With the latest Gallardo LP560-4, now also the new HAMANN Victory II is introduced. The car body becomes broader and the engine performance as well as the amount of carbon parts is significantly increased.

And what is the most essential part of a Lamborghini? Right, it is the wing doors. Andnobody really knows why the Gallardo is not equipped with them straight away.

HAMANN offers these for the Victory II. In addition, they offer an entire refinement of the original body design which starts with a new front apron in Race-design with a center carbon part. With new fenders in the front and fender extensions in the back, the Victory II renders an even more remarkable appearance. Also, the extended side skirts and the air inlet on the roof –
available in carbon as well – confirm this impression. The back of the car is enhanced by a diffuser and a newly designed rear wing which pushes the car onto the road at high speeds. HAMANN offers the rear wing either in fiber glass or the ultra light and persistent carbon. On top of that, a carbon layer can be applied to the bonnet.

HAMANN equips the Victory II with 20 inch Edition Race rims with a special varnish in order to emphasize the new dynamic look. At the same time, the reduced unsprung masses improve the handling and the acceleration and braking response.

The recommended wheel/tire combination is 9.5Jx20 inches with 235/30ZR20 tires at the front and
13Jx20 rims with 325/25ZR20 tires at the back.

By adjusting the engine electronics, HAMANN squeezes additional performance out of this Italian stallion, increasing its power to 427 kW/580 hp with a maximum torque of 575 Newton meters. Therefore, the HAMANN Victory II reaches an impressive 328 km/h top speed.

The impressive V10-Sound turns even more remarkable by applying an end muffler to the serial end pipes.

The interior of the HAMANN Victory II is enhanced by a 14-part carbon set which includes decorative blends, the steering wheel and the door openers. The HAMANN sports seats with the carbon back render a perfect seating position. If desired, the HAMANN upholstery department can offer anything to make the customers’ hearts beat faster. Personalized floor mats or entire leather equipment, everything is handmade by master craftsmen. Individually designed for you and fitted to your car by experts.

Video: Underground Racing’s Lamborghini Gallardo Nera Set To Return

Underground Racing is an American tuning firm based just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina that specializes in twin-turbocharging kits for Italian exotica, namely Lamborghini’s Gallardo and Murcielago supercars.

The firm has a reputation for building some of the most awesome power-up kits in the business, like this twin-turbocharged Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV, which actually spat out fire during a high-speed run. Sadly, that reputation turned slightly sour following an incident involving one its highly modified Gallardos.

The car, which develops upwards of 2,000 horsepower and is capable of reaching speeds in excess of 250 mph, suffered a crash while traveling at more than 200 mph. Fortunately the driver was unhurt and walked away from the crash--proof that modern safety equipment isn't only necessary, it's damn effective. You can see a video of the crash here.

To help turnaround its tarnished image, Underground Racing is working on a new Gallardo project, and this time it’s using the highly exclusive Gallardo Nera as its blank canvas. You may recall that the Nera was a special edition Gallardo built in a production run of just 185 cars back in 2007.

We can only surmise what Underground Racing has planned for the car but expect otherworldly power ratings and insane top speeds. Check out this teaser video of the car completing some acceleration tests.

Bucharest, home of luxury cars: 102 Ferrari, 29 Lamborghini, 48 Rolls Royce, 1,100 Porsche cars

The fact that Bucharest has more luxury cars that the country’s development would support is a wonder for many foreigners who visit the city. In a city where parking spaces are scarce, there are 20,000 luxury cars, writes Romanian daily Gandul. There are 102 Ferrari cars registered in Bucharest, 160 Cadillacs and 100 Chrystlers.

The list goes on with 29 Lamborghini cars, 120 Maserati, 10 Maybachs and as many as 1,100 Porsche cars. There are also 48 Rolls Roys cars in the Romanian capital city and 125 Ford Mustangs. Chances to see such cars on Bucharest streets are higher in areas like Dorobanti and more recently, the Decebal boulevard, close to the coffee shops in these areas.

Bucharest has over 1.7 million drivers and only 188,000 parking places. According to statistics, 1.5 million cars are registered in the city, and an extra 500,000 are in transit in the capital city.

Lamborghini Estoque Will Be Produced After All

Lamborghini boss Stephan Winkelmann finally confessed to Autocar that he prefers to make a four-door sedan rather than a SUV. He says that they were baffled by the positive feedback they received from their Estoque Concept. He also says it can attract new buyers to the brand. If you do the math, you have to conclude the Estoque is heading into production!

But don’t expect it to arrive anytime soon. Lamborghini has been very relaxed regarding the Estoque from the beginning. The car was first introduced in 2008, then during the credit crunch it was totally canned, and now it’s back on again. And it’s not fully confirmed yet. But from every aspect you look at it, it just makes complete sense for Lambo to build it. So just do it!

"We have opportunities outside the supercar business, and we showed that with Estoque,” said Winkelmann. “It had a more enthusiastic response than we had expected. It was the right time to see if the brand could go outside of supercars. Even now, people are still emailing me about us making the Estoque.

“We really have a choice when it comes to an additional model: an SUV or a four-seat four-door. And for me the SUV is a no-go. It doesn’t exist in our price segment, and it’s not a real luxury car.”

Winkelmann said a four-door in the mould of the Estoque could attract new buyers to Lamborghini by offering a more practical proposition than the company’s two-seaters. “There are more opportunities in the segment of four-doors,” he said. “If we are going to offer a third model, it could be a ‘first’ car, bringing people to our brand.”

Performante: Lamborghini Unveils Lightweight Gallardo Spyder

Exotic-car maker Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. has a history of designing super sports cars and then updating them every so often with bigger engines and other modifications. The practice has led to numerous versions of each model with successions of labels like S, SV, Superleggera and even anniversary editions.

Now the Italian unit of German auto giant Volkswagen AG is continuing the tradition with the Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante. It unveiled the new car at a private event in West Hollywood, Calif., just as this week’s Los Angeles auto show began to wind down. Car Makers often hold such premiers away from the auto-show crowds so they can entertain established and potential customers.

The latest Gallardo is essentially a rag-top version of the Superleggera coupe that trumped the standard model’s performance with light carbon-fiber body parts and more power. Lamborghini has been using lots of carbon lately not only to save weight, but to make its cars stiff — a trait that leads to sharper handling. Since a roadster’s lack of a roof compromises stiffness, the use of carbon has the potential to give open-top cars rigidity similar to that of hardtop models.

“The LP 570-4 Spyder Performante represents the next evolution in the Gallardo model range and is the most extreme open-top vehicle in its class,” said Stephan Winkelmann, Lamborghini’s president and CEO.

The company says carbon fiber parts helped cut the Spyder Performante’s weight by 143 pounds compared with its predecessor, the Gallardo LP 560-4 Spyder. The new model’s 5.2-liter V10 engine generates 570 horsepower — 10 more than the previous roadster — and helps the Performante sprint from 0-62 mph (100 kilometers per hour) in 3.9 seconds. Its top speed is 201 mph, Lamborghini says.

Video: Porsche 911 GT3 vs Lamborghini Gallardo

What better way to start the day than with a supercar race around Paris?

The team from stuntattitude.fr certainly picked two fine cars to show off in – the professional pilots are behind the wheel of a Porsche 911 GT3 and a Lamborghini Gallardo.

The footage owes as much to the benefits of shaky camera work and quick editing as it does to fast driving, but the day we turn down the opportunity to watch someone get a GT3 sideways in a city centre is the day we hand in our press cards and take that estate agency job.

Lamborghini Gallardo LP 540 Green Goblin Is a Virtual Madness

The world of tuning offers a dynamic environment where many things can happen while you blink. We can only be thrilled that the aftermarket developers use such an active approach, aiming to cater for every modification need customers could have.

And when we’re talking about tuning kits for vehicles like the Lamborghini Gallardo, things can only become more interesting with every new story. While Lambo is busy creating one special edition of the Gallardo after another, tuners from around the world are also keen to make the most out of the supercar.

Today, we are presenting you the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 540 Green Goblin. This is a 3D tuning proposal that was created by the Canadian company AMV Designs and is based on the work of Alexei Mikhailov, as L4P.com reports.

Before we start the actual description of the modification program, we must tell you that the company has released no explanation for the name of the project. We are referring to the “540” part, which is pretty strange, as Lambo’s current offer includes a model with a 560 hp output, so this would be a downgrade in terms of power.

Moving on, we must tell you that the vehicle uses a carbon fiber aerodynamic kit that includes a revised front fascia (a lot of aggression can be seen here), side cooling elements, redesigned side skirts. At the rear of the car, we can find a carbon fiber party, together with new generously-sized twin exhaust tips. The project also includes a set of five-spoke alloy rims.

Video: Pagani And Lamborghini Duel In Need For Speed Hot Pursuit Trailer

For the driving simulator fan, the Need for Speed series holds a certain nostalgia as one of the first really fun and engaging car games. For the past 16 years the franchise has expanded on that theme, evolving to a level of realistic graphics and fun-focused gameplay that everyone can get on board with.

The latest series in the title sees the return of the Hot Pursuit game mode
, where the mission is to outrun the law. Unfortunately, your task isn’t made it easy because despite having an assortment of supercars to select from, you will be up against everything from police using Lamborghini Murcielagos to helicopters.

As this latest trailer shows, even with a car like the Pagani Zonda, outrunning the cops is no small feat. As for the game itself, all we can say is wow. And, unlike Gran Turismo 5, this one’s in stores now.

Lambo registers Aventador name

Lamborghini's replacement for the MurciƩlago hypercar will be named Aventador, according to reports.

The firm has registered the Aventador name with the US trademark office, raising speculation that the car, set for a Geneva motor show 2011 launch, will take that name for production.

Lamborghini has a tradition of naming its cars after Spanish bulls; Aventador would fit that brief. There has also been previous speculation that the car may take the Jota name for production, but no patent application has been filed for that name.

The US trademark office's website explains coverage will include the use of the Aventador name on vehicles, clothing, footwear, games and playthings among other applications.

Whatever the car ends up being called, it will be powered by an all-new 6.5-litre V12 engine mated to a new single-clutch automated manual gearbox. The V12 has 59bhp more than the outgoing unit, at 691bhp. There’s more torque, too - a peak of 509lb ft - and it’s available 500rpm further down the rev range, at 5500rpm.

Lamborghini to introduce limited edition vehicle

The limited edition Lamborghini Sesto Elemento has been given the green light to enter production next year.

There will be no more than 10 copies produced and if you want to own the vehicle you’ll need a cool £2.5million at your disposal.

The Sesto Elemento was first introduced at the Paris Motor Show where it was considered one of the stars of the show earning rave reviews from the motoring press and the public alike, prompting Lamborghini into action.

The vehicle is under the hood of the LP 570-4 Superleggera model and features an aspirated 5.2litre V10 engine that develops 562hp. Its engineers have reached the performance levels while keeping car weight at just 999kg thanks to the use of carbon fibre and the carbon inclusive structure.

It features all-wheel drive, has a ratio of 1.75lbs per horsepower, can race from 0-100km/h in 2.5seconds and has a top speed of 350km/h.
